As a designer, I see fabric as the very soul of a scarf. Every silk scarf should feature distinctive motifs and colours, but it must also be made from an exceptional fabric.

When I was a child, my grandmother raised silkworms. In spring, she brought out eggs no larger than sesame seeds. As soon as they hatched, the silkworms devoured tender mulberry leaves. They grew quickly, and after a month they began spinning cocoons from fine silk threads. This experience created a deep personal connection with silk. It is why I chose silk twill as the principal fabric for my brand. Today, I would like to explain why that choice matters.

Silk twill is woven in a diagonal pattern as the warp and weft threads cross. This creates a distinctive texture that feels soft and delicate, making it ideal for scarves designed to be both timeless and durable.

Thanks to its construction, silk twill has a balanced weight. Scarves remain light and breathable for spring and summer while providing welcome warmth when worn around the neck in autumn and winter.

The structure of silk twill makes a scarf resistant to creasing and highly durable, especially when compared with fabrics such as silk satin. It retains its elegant shape even after repeated folding or tying and does not crease easily. Less frequent ironing makes it particularly suited to an active lifestyle and to the principles of ethical, slow fashion.

Silk twill also absorbs dyes beautifully, producing rich, vivid colour. From vibrant shades to softer tones, every colour is rendered with exceptional depth on this fabric.
